The ceramic cellar is heavier than I expected, which is great because it won’t tip over when I’m pinching salt mid-cook. The flake salt clings to my fingers just right, and the coastal blue glaze looks lovely sitting on my counter.
The flake salt is genuinely flaky and dissolves fast, which made finishing steaks feel almost ritualistic. The handcrafted cellar from Pigeon Toe Ceramics has this lovely weight to it, and the coastal glaze looks even better in person than online.
The cellar is a beautiful little object—the glaze has this lovely coastal texture that feels great in the hand—and the flaky salt itself is perfect for finishing steaks. I’ve got it sitting right by the stove and use it every single day now.
